Costco Visa welcome offers: None currently, previous $75 bonus

December 24, 2024: The Costco Anywhere Visa® Card no longer offers a welcome bonus to new cardmembers. If there is a new cardmember bonus offered on this card, we’ll update this page.

The last time the card offered a bonus was for a little less than a month in October 2024. Here’s what you need to know about the historical sign-up bonuses on this card.

When Costco offers a new cardmember bonus, it is usually earned as a statement credit. Be aware that the rewards on this card are granted as a certificate that is issued once a year and must be cashed at a Costco warehouse.

Costco and Citi have occasionally offered a (small) new cardmember bonus on this card. See our coverage of the Costco Visa sign-up bonuses for details.

My take: No bonus probably doesn’t matter, but card isn’t that great

If you’re a Costco member getting this card, whether the card is earning a sign up bonus currently won’t make or break your decision to get the card. In every case, it’s certainly not worth waiting around for a $75 bonus that may or may not ever show up again.

But be aware that this card probably isn’t the best card for you to use at Costco. The card promotes its 2% rewards in Costco warehouses and at Costco.com as being a signature feature, but you can get 2% cash back rewards everywhere using a 2% cash back card. And the cash back you’ll get on other cards won’t make you wait until your February statement or stand in line at a Costco warehouse to redeem a paper certificate.

Check out our list of the best cards to use at Costco if you are a frequent Costco shopper. You can get up to 5.25% cash back with other cards.

Bonus eligibility: Are you eligible to earn the sign-up bonus?

When the Costco Visa offered a new cardmember bonus in October 2024, we reviewed the terms and conditions of the then-current bonus offer.

When we looked, we didn’t find any restrictive terms and conditions which would prevent you from earning the bonus again if you had the card in the past. If Citi approves you for the card and you meet the spending requirements, you should be able to get the bonus.

Previous bonuses: Rare $75 bonus in 2024

The Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi rarely offers new cardmember bonuses, but that’s not to say that it never has had a bonus. Here are the previous bonuses that we know about. Note that all of the bonuses in this section are no longer available.

  • Earn a $75 statement credit after spending $1,500 within the first 3 months of account opening. Offer valid 10/3/24 – 10/27/24.
