My take: Both useful bonuses and Wyndham bonus makes some transfers make sense for non-premium cardmembers.

People can decry the loss of Virgin Atlantic redemptions for Delta One Suites all they want—I still find the points useful. Last year, I used Virgin Atlantic points to book a ticket between the U.S. and New Zealand on Air New Zealand in business class. Certainly not the most luxurious business class experience available, but certainly a decent way to get across the pond if you’re going to that part of the world.

And the transfer bonus to Wyndham will be useful to those who maximize that program… AND it might make transfers from non-premium cards make sense for those with no Strata Premier card.
