April 21, 2025: The Citi Rewards+® Card is no longer available to new cardmembers. If you want to earn ThankYou points with new cardmember bonus, you can check out our list of the best ThankYou Points welcome offers.
My take: Sad to see this card go
Very likely the reason why Citi discontinued this card was waning interest. Since the card offered at most the same rewards as the Double Cash at supermarkets and at gas stations, there was little reason to prefer this card on its own over the Double Cash.
Now, if you are invested in the Citi ThankYou® Points ecosystem, getting the Rewards+ worked out well. The card’s 10% points rebate meant that you could get up to 10,000 points per year just for having the card and combining your ThankYou Points accounts. If you’ve got the card, hold onto it as long as Citi will let you.
