October 7, 2024: We checked up on the Citi Double Cash® Card welcome offers and noticed that Citi dropped the spending requirement by $500 to $1,500. The “limited time offer” language has also been removed from the marketing language, so this offer is likely here to stay.
If you’re thinking of adding the Citi Double Cash® Card to your wallet, now’s a good time to pick up the card. We don’t know of better offers on the card in the recent past.

My take: Decent bonus on a no-annual fee card, but high spending requirement
Within the last several months, Citi dropped the spending requirements for the Double Cash bonus from $2,000 within 6 months to $1,500 within 6 months, making the bonus easier to earn. But when the best easy cash back bonuses are offering $200 after spending much less, the Double Cash isn’t a card that you’re getting for the sign-up bonus.
Citi hasn’t always offered a bonus on the Double Cash card and previous bonus offers on this card have been promoted as a “limited time offer.” The current bonus isn’t being promoted as a limited-time offer, so we think that the bonus is here to stay.
In terms of how the bonus compares to other bonuses, we haven’t seen a better bonus on this card since we started tracking this card. If you’re looking at this card, now is as good a time as any.
