My take: Good deal if you want Avios. Don’t sleep on the flexibility of Avios transfers between programs.

These days, I don’t get particularly excited about British Airways Avios. Personally, I’ve found them most useful for short-haul flights on OneWorld within Europe, but it’s been quite some time since I’ve redeemed Avios.

Keep in mind that Avios can be transferred between the Avios programs, so consider the bonus to British Airways to be ALSO a bonus to Iberia Plus, Aer Lingus AerClub, and Qatar Privilege Club. That opens up more interesting redemption options. If you need Avios, this is the best current transfer bonus.
