American Express® Gold Card Offer: Earn Membership Rewards®

March 10, 2025: The American Express® Gold Card features a welcome offer for new cardmembers. But you’ll see many different Amex Gold Card offers, depending on where you look. And in the case of the Amex Gold Card, you might see a much better offer. Here’s everything we know about the best Amex Gold welcome offers.

American Express® Gold Card public offer: Usually not the best

This is the standard offer on the Amex Gold Card, and the only one that we have a direct link to. But it is very likely not the best offer. Continue reading to find a better offer.

Learn how to apply.

Before you apply: The bonus above is very likely not the best bonus available on this card. Amex continuously changes the bonus on this card and you can probably find a better bonus by going directly to the American Express website or finding a referral link from a friend.

This bonus is earned as Membership Rewards® points.

Referral offers: More points when applying through a friend’s link

We consistently see better offers through friend referral links on the Amex Gold card. While we don’t currently have an active referral link, we know that there have been better offers on the Amex Gold Card in the not-so-distant past.

If you have a friend that holds an Amex Gold Card, check with them to see if they can generate a referral link. You might be able to get a better offer while earning points for your friend.

We’re working on launching our newsletter and plan to solicit referral links from our newsletter subscribers to publish here and to our subscriber base. Get on the list to be subscribed when our newsletter launches.

Resy offer: Points, plus a statement credit

All information about the Resy Amex Gold Offer in this section has been collected independently by cardsandpoints.com.

American Express markets some card offers exclusively through Resy, its restaurant reservation services. Resy has an exclusive Amex Gold Card offer that we haven’t seen elsewhere:

  • Earn 75,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $6,000 on purchases on your new Card in your first 6 months of Card Membership.
  • Receive 20% back, up to $250, as a statement credit on purchases made at restaurants worldwide within the first 12 months of Card Membership.

You can find the Resy offer at this link.

Finding a better American Express® Gold Card offer

All information about the Amex Gold Offers referenced in this section has been collected independently by cardsandpoints.com.

Very likely, you can find a better American Express Gold Card offer. The last time we looked, we found a 100k point offer without too much effort.

Targeted 100k Amex Gold offer found on the Amex website.
Targeted Amex Gold offer found on the Amex website.

The above offer may no longer be available or it may show up only intermittently. Here’s what you can try if you want to hunt down a better offer:

  • Search for “Amex Gold Card Offer” in your favorite search engine and click on the link directly to the American Express website. This works best when using private browsing/incognito mode. If you don’t have success, try different computers or web browsers.
  • Go to the Amex website directly. Again, try different browsers and incognito/private browsing mode.
  • Call American Express if you are a current cardmember and ask if there are any targeted offers for you on the card.

Following the steps above won’t guarantee that you’ll find a better offer, but that’s what we do whenever we apply for a new Amex card.

Bottom line: You can get an Amex Gold Offer, but it pays to shop around

My mama told me, you better shop around. And even if you didn’t grow up listening to Motown records, that’s sage advice when it comes to the American Express Gold Card. The offer you’ll see on most sites likely isn’t the best offer—you can earn a lot more points if you spend a few minutes hunting down a better offer.
